“Demetrius Andrade beat Canelo Alvarez, BooBoo is dangerous” says Benavidez Boxing News 24

Via Sean Jones: Jose Benavidez Sr. says that Demetrius ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade is “dangerous” and that he would beat Canelo Alvarez now if that fight were to happen.

Benavidez Sr. believes Demetrius has enough talent to beat Canelo right now, and he finds him beating the undefeated champion.

Andrade (31-0, 19 KOs) looked deadly last Friday night, stopping Jason Quigley with a knockout in the second round while successfully defending his WBO middleweight title in Manchester, New Hampshire.

That performance by Andrade opened the eyes of many boxing fans, who now understand why Canelo didn’t choose to fight him.

Jose Sr. felt that Canelo would not go down in history as he was beating the best fighters like ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade, David Benavidez and Jermall Charlo.

Canelo (57-1-2, 39 KOs) skips Benavidez, Andrade, Charlo, Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol to move up to cruiser rank for the WBC title Ilunga Makabu at the World Boxing Council’s new adjusted weight of 190 lbs for the division.

Fans consider this move by Canelo to fight Makabu as a classic example of the act of picking cherries to pick a beatable guy seen as worst champion in the cruiser class. He will be weaker because he has to drop from the standard 200 lbs for the division to the WBC’s new 190 lbs for their title.

Demetrius Andrade defeats Canelo

“I think that’s another fighter that Canelo doesn’t want to fight,” said Jose Benavidez Sr. talk to AKH when TV when asked who he would choose between Canelo and Demetrius Andrade.

“He [Canelo] try to make excuses [for not fighting Andrade], ‘Pay day, pay day, terrible fighter, terrible fighter.’ If he is a terrible warrior, why not fight him? It’s another fight that people want to see.

“My respects to ‘Boo Boo’, he’s a great fighter, and it’s another fight that we [David Benavidez] would also like to have, with ‘Boo Boo.’ He is also a very dangerous fighter. I respect, but it’s going to be a big fight for us, and we’re willing to do that too.

“The reason I want to fight him [Andrade] is because Canelo doesn’t want to fight him. We want to show people that we’re going to make that fight happen, you know? I think I’ll go with ‘Boo Boo. ‘ He’s really going to give Canelo trouble,” Benavidez said.

At this point, the only way Andrade has a chance of fighting Canelo is if he goes up to 175 because after the Mexican star worked all of his muscle weight to increase to 190 to take on Makabu, he was win. ‘ cannot return 168.

Canelo is beating all the good fighters

“Canelo knows who the boxer is will get him in trouble. He has a really big chance to win. Canelo is the best at 168, but those are the people he doesn’t want to fight.

“He didn’t want to fight David Benavidez, he didn’t want to fight Charlos, and he didn’t want to fight ‘Boo Boo.’

“Therefore, I have great respect for those who want to fight him, and Canelo doesn’t want to fight none of these guys. I don’t think ‘Boo Boo’ is a bad fighter, and I think he is a dangerous fighter. Even if we fight him, I would never call him a terrible fighter.

“I think he is a very dangerous boxer. We want to make history, and we want to fight the best. We’re not knocking anyone down. If ‘Boo Boo’ hears this, I have great respect.

“It would be an honor to fight him. Let’s fight. If these guys don’t want to fight, make war happen.

“That’s what they [Team Canelo] known historically by Defeat all these good warriors. Everyone knows what happened. I don’t think they [Canelo] will always earn everyone’s respect, and I don’t think he’s everyone’s champion.

“Yes he is [Canelo] want to make history, but the reality is that boxing connoisseurs will never accept it. They don’t fight good fighters. They’re just picking their opponents,” Team Canelo’s Benavidez said.

It seems odd that Canelo NEVER fought Andrade when he fought at 160.

Also, Canelo’s decision not to take on David Benavidez at 168, Artur Beterbiev, Dmitry Bivol and Joe Smith Jr at 175 is hard to ignore.
