DeMar DeRozan just broke Wilt Chamberlain’s scoring record

Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan went ahead and claimed the record previously held by NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain.

When it comes to basketball, it’s usually a good thing to be included in a sentence like one of the greatest players the NBA has ever seen. If you’re playing at the level of a legend and surpassing them, you’re probably accomplishing quite a bit for your team.

So it is very important to note that DeMar DeRozan and Chicago Bulls are having all kinds of fun in the last few games. That’s because he has just claimed a record that was previously owned by the remarkable Wilt Chamberlain.

Wednesday night, DeRozan continued and extended his streak of scoring at least 35 points, while also taking 50% of his shots to seven games.

Despite what some on Twitter may believe, it’s very difficult to score 20 points (or more) in the NBA. It’s even harder to score at least 35 points in a game. And not being able to do that for seven games in a row and being a very efficient goalscorer at the same time.

Because DeRozan was so good and effective, the Bulls just kept winning. Chicago is currently top of the Eastern Conference with a 38-21 record and is on a five-game winning streak.
