‘Demand more people to be killed?’ Twitter has slammed Serena Williams for her “disrespectful, insensitive and distasteful” comments on the Texas school shooting

Two days ago, the world mourned the heinous “Texas School Shooting” incident that killed 21 people, including 19 innocent children. A twisted, gun-toting teenager named Salvador Ramos openly fired at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas and was later killed in the exchange of fire. The gunman reportedly killed his grandmother before claiming 21 more lives on a chilly morning.
The incident shook the heart of US politics and raised a very valid question: “Why are guns still legal in the US?” The blame game between Republicans and Democrats is heating up by the hour, and civilians are asking how many more innocents will be killed.
Many eminent figures from all walks of life have expressed their sadness at this incident, including 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams. The tennis legend took to Twitter to condemn the incident and revealed how heartbroken he is. He added that he had prayed for the victims and victims of these crimes.
βThese heinous shootings really broke my heart. I continue to pray for the victims and people affected by these crimes. I am also praying for the coming of God’s kingdom, but until then we know we are living in times that are indeed “difficult to deal with”. Matthew 6:10; 2 Timothy 3:1-5″ wrote Serena.
But Serena’s kind words weren’t well received by people on social media. Serena wrote in her tweet that she is praying for God’s kingdom. As Serena prayed for God’s peace and final judgment, people interpreted it very differently. Many thought that she was praying that God would soon bring Armageddon and kill all who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses, which in turn would lead to more deaths, and so she prayed for more deaths.
