Delivery driver injured in Yarragon accident when delivery truck collides with V/Line train

A man has been injured in an accident when his van and a train collided in a Victorian town.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Prince Hwy and Rollo St in Yarragon at 8.20am on Tuesday.

The accident happened at the level crossing and the V/Line train collided with the white van, ripping off its side door and leaving packages scattered on the road.

The driver of the van escaped with minor injuries and was taken to hospital in stable condition.

There were about 100 passengers on the train at the time of the collision and no one was injured.

Before 10 a.m., passengers boarded buses to proceed to their destination while police attended the scene.

Investigators are investigating how the accident happened and anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
