Decentraland Pact Adds Metaverse to The Infinite Machine Movie

Versus Entertainment has brought Decentraland and Lumiere on board to develop Metaverse and NFT angles for its ongoing film project The Infinite Machine.

The Infinite Machine is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Camilla Russo and is now being produced by Versus with Ridley Scott’s production company Scott Free. It tells the story of Vitalik Buterin, the controversial co-founder of Ethereum, the second largest digital asset in the world.

Decentraland runs a virtual world that uses open source technology and can be extended by the member users. The platform is also owned and operated by the same users who use blockchain rather than a parent company.

The agreement between Versus and Decentraland sees the film and its NFT collection being developed and integrated into Decentraland’s metaverse. Lumiere, an entertainment specialist based in Hong Kong and Singapore, is supporting the project by developing and integrating the film’s experience and engaging its audience in the Decentraland metaverse.

The Infinite Machine is expected to have its third round of NFT releases in the coming months, making it the first NFT-funded film ever.

The film is written and directed for the screen by Shyam Madiraju, with Scott Free’s Scott, Tom Moran and Vera Meyer producing along with Versus Entertainment’s Alejandro Miranda.

“We’re really proud that a company like Lumiere and a film as important as ‘The Infinite Machine’ have chosen Decentraland to build their experience, to engage with their community fan base. The connection between films, their communities and the metaverse is already happening,” said Alejandro De Grazia, Head of Film and Entertainment at Decentraland Foundation.

“This is an event that has the potential to change the way the entire industry develops and delivers its content to its fans and viewers,” said Lumiere CEO Patrice Poujol.

Miranda and Francisco Gordillo, executive producers of The Infinite Machine and responsible for its NFT collection, describe the film and its reach into the metaverse as “an amazing project that will bring the ecosystem potential of Ethereum to mainstream audiences.” .
