In her final bout, Lopez retained her IBF lightweight title while winning other titles from two-time Ukrainian Olympic champion Vasiliy Lomachenko. However, Lomachenko wanted a rematch but failed. Furthermore, American lightweight Devin Haney and Kambosos Jr also want to fight Teofimo Lopez.

The highest ratings came to the situation to settle the fight between Lopez and Kambosos Jr, but they offered $1.25 million to Lopez. But, he disagreed with that and as a result the fight came to a screeching halt. The Triller won the bid for $6 million. However, Triller changed the match date several times and the IBF found Triller failed to fulfill his contractual obligations. Therefore, the right to host the match was awarded to the second highest bidder.
