Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic sits in front of the Memphis Grizzlies with ankle pain

DALLAS – Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic don’t play on saturday night 97-90 lose with Memphis, the second night of the confrontation, with what the team said was left ankle pain.
Coach Jason Kidd said the pain was a lingering effect from the left ankle sprain that sidelined Doncic for three games last month. The 22-year-old also sprained his left knee later. The Mavericks have lost all three games without two All-Star appearances.
Doncic displayed uncomfortable moments Friday in a 107-91 loss to New Orleans, a third straight loss at home. But Kidd said Doncic did not aggravate the injury. Kidd said Doncic had an MRI but would not release the results.
Dallas played the Grizzlies at home to complete three games in four nights. Mavericks will have two days off before hosting Kevin Durant, James Harden and brooklyn network.
Kidd said: “It’s just been a busy time for us, so we’ll see how he feels tomorrow.
Mavericks don’t have either Kristaps PorzingisDoncic, the injured European extra, for the second game in a row with a left knee injury. Kidd said Porzingis was injured Monday during the win over New Orleans.
center Willie Cauley-Stein missed the fourth game in a row, the last three due to personal reasons.
Memphis has gone missing Ja Morant played the fourth game in a row because of a sprained left knee. Morant was the second overall draft pick in 2019, a year after Doncic finished third.
The Grizzlies played for the first time since setting an NBA record with a 73-point lead in a 152-79 home win over Oklahoma City.
