Dad has been hailed as a ‘legend’ after he shared a hilarious way to get his kids to take a nap

A father has been hailed as a ‘Legend’ and ‘Parent of the Year’ after he confessed the hilarious way he used to get his kids to take a nap.

Jeremy Littel, from the US, has shared a now-viral TikTok video in which he explains how he secretly switches a film between Spanish and English to confuse his three children – two sons and a daughter.

The father described his trick as “really perfect” and said his kids would end up going to bed because they’re convinced they need rest after struggling to understand the film.

“Sometimes I like to turn on movies that are in Spanish and then my kids look at me confused,” he said.

“They wonder why they can’t understand it, and I’m like, ‘Well, I don’t know why, but you’re probably just tired and need a nap.’

“And then when they wake up from their nap, I take the same film and put it in English and they think they’re all better.”

Jeremy burst into hysterical laughter and said, “I can’t.”

His video has been viewed more than 21 million times – many praising him for his “brilliant upbringing”.

“Why didn’t I ever think of that? Brilliant,” said one.

While one suggested: “Best parenting skill ever. I will use this when I am a parent.”

Many said they enjoyed the dad’s “perfect evil laugh” at the end of the video.

“Sir, this is pure evil and I love it,” said one, laughing.

Another suggested: “That’s mean but so smart.”

While one added, “That laugh at the end was the best part of the video.”

Many confessed that they couldn’t wait to try the same trick on their future children.

Meanwhile, one man revealed: “I did this to my brother. But instead of switching it to Spanish, I mute it. Then he asks me why he can’t hear it and I say, ‘Maybe you’re tired’.”

The video was first uploaded to TikTok in 2020 – but has been circulating on social media in recent days.
