Cubs star rolls his ankle in the game Field of Dreams

Willson Contreras nearly had his special night with the Chicago Cubs cut short at the Field of Dreams game after twisting his ankle on the basepaths.
That MLB dream field Game is a special, special moment for every player who gets to play, something that Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds players can certainly attest to that as they walked through the corn Thursday night. But the last thing you want to see is someone get hurt, which unfortunately happened to Chicago catcher Willson Contreras.
Contreras came on base in the top third of the third inning, looking to put the Cubs in a better position to extend their then 3-0 lead. So when Patrick Wisdom threw a single outfield, he turned to second base to see if he could possibly take third.
Unfortunately, trying to stop his momentum, the Chicago star twisted his ankle quite badly and remained prone for a minute. He got up and, after talking to the coaches, carefully walked off the field under his own power.
Willson Contreras injury: Cubs catcher rolls ankle, scares fans
From the pain he was apparently suffering from the twisted ankle, one would have thought he would be out for the rest of the game. However, that was not the case.
When the Cubs came out for the bottom half of the third inning, Contreras had his gear on and was back behind the plate. Talk about toughness—and you probably don’t want his time on the Iowa corn to end prematurely.
We’re happy to see Contreras doing well after injury but it will be worth watching after Thursday’s game to see if his status is questioned going forward.
