With a thrilling 3-run home run against the Milwaukee Brewers, Seiya Suzuki officially has his first MLB home run with the Chicago Cubs.
Seiya Suzuki is officially an MLB home run hitter. The hitter, who recently signed with the Chicago Cubs and made his way to Chicago after an exciting Nippon Professional baseball career with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, hit a hell of a home run for the Cubs early Sunday afternoon in the game.
In fact, the home run, one of the three runs, came in the first inning for the Cubs against the Milwaukee Brewers. Suzuki absolutely crushed it and shot the ball straight into the stands for Chicago fans to joyfully celebrate.
It’s a fucking home run!
An added bonus on this home run is Suzuki’s nice, uncomplicated bat flip. Just an all-around great situation for the Cubs with that moment.
And, of course, the home run delighted the Suzuki teammates.
Chicago Cubs: Seiya Suzuki hits his first MLB home run against the Milwaukee Brewers
It’s great to see Suzuki embraced by his Cubs teammates, the fans and the city of Chicago. It’ll be great to see if he can keep hitting home runs like that. He may not be enough to simply get the Cubs back on track as competitors, but perhaps Suzuki can be part of a quick turnaround and rebuild for Chicago.
So far, Suzuki has got off to a really good start.
Sure, it’s super early and there’s no way anyone with the incredibly small sample size can realistically read into things, but Cubs fans should check out Suzuki’s .375 batting average and that impressive home run after the Cubs’ first few games be happy.
