Crafting YouTuber Melanie Ham dies of cancer at the age of 36

Crafting YouTuber Melanie Ham, who ran a popular channel dedicated to sewing, crochet and DIY tutorial videos, has died of cancer at the age of 36.
Robert, her husband announced her death Instagram on January 12, stating that “Melanie fought like a warrior queen” against “this insidious disease.”
Ham who has over 800,000 subscribers channels with some videos reaching more than 5 million views, said in a August 2020 blog post She was diagnosed with an epithelial hemangioma, which is part of the sarcoma family of cancers.

“With a heavy heart and deep sadness, I share the news of the passing of my beautiful, sweet, wonderful wife Melanie,” her husband wrote in the announcement of her passing. “Over the past few months, things have been slowly getting worse and we’re so grateful that we’ve gotten through this moment over the holidays and tried to make every moment count.”
Her death came just nine days before their 16th wedding anniversary, he said.
“Despite the deep grief of my family and I feel today we want to celebrate a wonderful woman and a good life. She loves passionately, creates beautifully, provides abundance bountiful and my best friend to the end,” her husband wrote.
“She is an extraordinary woman and God has another beautiful angel,” he added. “She can now walk, sing and dance in a way her body hasn’t allowed for the past few months.”
Speaking about his state of health in an August 2020 blog post, Ham said the cancer is “very, very rare” and “behaves differently from a typical cancer, which is why is it so unpredictable.”

She said she went through a harsher chemotherapy regimen that caused her hair to fall out.
“Of course we were hoping that this chemotherapy would work but after a few rounds we had a rescan and the chemotherapy had failed – all the cancer was still progressing. Another gut punch,” Ham wrote.
At the end of August, she switched to chemotherapy.
“We always try to be optimistic that this will be an effective treatment, but the truth is there is no clear path on how to fight this, so we will keep fighting,” she said. .
Her last video was uploaded to YouTube in April 2021.
Fans were heartbroken when they heard the news of her passing.
“I’ve been thinking about her so many times over the past few days. I learned how to quilt just this year when watching her videos, her beautiful soul came through the screen and she felt like an old friend. I’m so sorry for your loss, so sad to hear this,” one person commented on the Instagram post.
“I’m heartbroken,” another fan wrote. “I love watching Melanie make things, even if I don’t do it myself. She makes everything look so easy and fun. I am so sorry for her family, especially her beautiful children. hers.”
