Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Focuses on Humility After Falcons Humiliation: ‘We Won’t Be Overconfident Again’

ARLINGTON, Texas – “No blueprints available.” At least, that’s what the corner is Trevon Diggs want to make sure the tournament is understood later Dallas Cowboys‘loser Dancer broncos in Week 9, when asked if the secret has been revealed on how to beat his team. That sentiment was loudly repeated by the midfielder Dak Prescott, who made it clear that it wasn’t what the Broncos did to win as much as what the Cowboys did to lose, and that everyone in white and blue proved both Diggs and Prescott right when Atlanta Falcons stroll into AT&T Stadium on Sunday.

Prescott and the Cowboys defeat the Falcons with pristine surgical precision enough to make Dexter blush, using a variety of weapons in all three stages to make Atlanta one of the worst losses in franchise history – loss 43 -3 could have been much worse had Dallas played perfect football (believe it or not, but they left points across the board, a nod to how dangerous they can be when in focus).

“Obviously we want it to come quickly, but I know there’s a lot of work to be done throughout the week,” Prescott said in his post-match press conference. “It’s important to take each day and focus on getting better. I want to use every day of the week to make sure I’m getting better with my legs and all the things I think I need to make sure I get better. told me not to repeat last week’s performance, and I’m sure many of the others who were responsible for that loss last week wanted to do the same.

“As a team we’re focused on, we’ve had a great week of practice and preparation and were able to come out and complement each other in all three phases of this week’s game.”

So about the supposed blueprints? Prescott said that the Falcons “tried it” – i.e. tried to emulate the Broncos – to open up the game, but it didn’t end up as they thought it would.

“I think, like I said last week, the reason I want it is because we played a bad game,” he said. “If [other teams] feels like that’s the recipe for success against us, and good luck to them. “

Don’t count on the Cowboys going to smell the cheese again, though. In that respect, the Broncos could have helped them, while also making things harder for the Falcons and every other competitor on the Cowboys’ schedule going forward.

“We’re not going to get overconfident again,” Prescott said. “That’s what a game like last week does for you. It leaves that taste in your mouth and makes you humble. … Last week neither we nor everyone in the dressing room knew that. and it left a bad taste in our mouths.

“I think it’s a taste that we need. Like I said, to understand how difficult this game is, but tonight just showed that when we’re focused, we play one game at a time. When our hearts and our minds are where we are, we have the capacity to do some amazing things, so we have to keep focusing on that and playing game by game and game by game and them. I will continue to improve and hope to have more performances like this.”

Needless to say, head coach Mike McCarthy was also pleased.

“Obviously, that’s the response we were looking for,” he said. “I think since Monday the players have been very responsible, have done the way you would expect of them. Today everyone contributed. Excellent team won.

“We had a lot of product and we were pretty dominant there in the first half. It’s nice to see the dressing room as it is. But that’s what you’re looking for – the preparation is great. awesome and our boys did a great job applying it today and playing with great emotion win the revenue difference and do a lot of good .”

It was an intense training session last week, filled with the fury and focus of the players and coaches, so McCarthy decided to break the tension with a fun exercise to balance things out. . That anger served the Cowboys against the Falcons very well, adding impetus to win the game for defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who received a game ball in the awesome way he called it. is the game, the organization Matt Ryan only went 117 yards with two interceptions and didn’t touch the ground – along with a third intercept when Josh Rosen entered the game after the Falcons waved the white flag.

Cowboys finished with two sacks to complement those three interceptions and interceptions Anthony Brown, had a great PBU-spin-INT himself, couldn’t be more impressed with the way the defense performed; and especially after losing one of the team’s best passers Randy Gregory to prepare for injury.

“That was amazing,” Brown said. “It’s the first time that’s happened since I’ve been here. It’s amazing. It’s something we need to do every week.

“You see how it affects the team.”

Domination comes from offensive, defensive behavior and due to a blocked hit from Dorance Armstrong that turned out to be a recovery for a rookie pick in the fifth round Nahshon Wright, with a list of Cowboys highlights long enough to reach the moon and then wrap around it multiple times. And it’s rumored that the moon is made of cheese, a big cheese, if true, but rest assured Prescott and the Cowboys won’t try to eat it.

“I mean, we have to get better,” added Prescott. ‘There’s a lot of work to be done. That has to be our mindset and our focus is every week looking to get better, to be the best version of ourselves, the best attack, the best defense, playing complementary football. and we can continue.

“We can get so much better.”
