“Couch Potato” Tony La Russa sleepy in 1st inning, Twitter MLB fans blown away » FirstSportz

Chicago White Sox manager Tony La Russa was caught dozing as his team hosted the Kansas City Royals in a 2-1 loss on Monday night. The loss became more frustrating as the biggest story to emerge from the loss for many fans was the sleepy manager. Fans had to wonder how, in a game where pitchers deserve credit, it was the losing team manager that grabbed the headlines.
Cameras spun on Tony La Russa in the first inning, he was seen dozing off in the Chicago White Sox dugout like a person who had been partying all night in Las Vegas and pulled up on a plane just before the game.
Tony La Russa had a head bob and tired eyes despite turning 78 in October, but what the camera let fans see has no explanation at all. “He falls asleep and it’s the first inning!!!!” Twitter user Moscow Mike said. “@whitesox please do something about it!!!”

Tony La Russa and White Sox greet Jake Diekman in their bullpen
On Monday night, Tony La Russa and the Chicago White Sox acquired Jake Diekman from the Red Sox in exchange for catcher Reese McGuire and a yet-to-be-named player or cash payments. The 35-year-old Diekman is 5-1 with a 4.23 ERA.
Jake Diekman has 51 strikeouts over 38 1/3 innings and 12 holds in 44 appearances this season, his first with the Red Sox. His 44 appearances led the Red Sox and ranks eighth in the AL.
White Sox’ All-Star Crew Liam Hendriks is friends with Jake Diekman, not only he but their wives are friends too. “He has one of the highest ceilings of any left-hander in the league, if not the highest. I think his stuff is unreal.” said Henriks. “Not only that, he will fit in really well in this clubhouse. We have some guys who played with him.”
“We have a few guys who know him. But he’s great. Great guy. good family Excited to have him and he is an asset to our pen. Especially with that high octane left-handed stuff and everything he can throw up, it just gives what we have a different look.”
