Toho Pictures has released a new teaser trailer for its live-action film Shin Ultraman, which is a modern reinterpretation of the classic 60’s character from Japan. The film is from the Shin Godzilla film crew from Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi and they try to build a shared universe with these iconic Japanese characters, dubbed the Shin Japan Heroes Universe.
The universe will bring Godzilla, Ultraman, Kamen Rider and robot anime together evangelion. Shin Ultraman will be the second movie in this series and it looks like it’s going to be awesome!
The trailer shows Ultraman confronting Gabora and Neronga, and there’s also a crazy looking robot that I don’t recognize. I loved Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman looks like it’s going to be just as good! I can’t wait to see it!
In the film, “An alien seeks justice and pursues a renegade criminal to a planet called Earth. As atonement for his deeds, he leaves power and turns a person into a hero for good and earthly protection. Thus, the Ultra Man is born, based on the original television series from the early 1960s that was seen on the televisions of many Japanese homes.
The movie stars Takumi Saitoh, Masami Nagasawa and Hidetoshi Nishijima and Toho Pictures will release the film in Japan on May 13, 2022. There is currently no release date for the US.
