Surprise surprise. “The King” is back (on Twitter).

Charles Oliveira has given Conor McGregor a call following his win over Justin Gaethje in the UFC 274 main event.

The fight was scheduled for the lightweight title but Oliveira vacated the title after missing weight. Oliveira submitted Gaethje in the first round, meaning the strap remains free.

After the fight, Oliveira challenged McGregor to face him in his next fight for the vacant title.

Conor McGregor says he has some things to think about after Charles Oliviera, Michael Chandler called him out at UFC 274

A short time later, McGregor responded to the call on social media.

McGregor has not won a lightweight fight since defeating Eddie Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight Title at UFC 205 in November 2016. He’s since lost 1-3, most recently losing two fights to Dustin Poirier in 2021.

Oliveira isn’t the only one calling out McGregor tonight. Michael Chandler also made an impassioned appeal to McGregor, claiming he would want him if he weren’t granted a rematch with Oliveira in the upcoming vacant title fight.

Chandler and Oliveira had a fight for the then-vacant lightweight title at UFC 262 almost exactly a year ago, with Oliveira coming from behind to get a finish in the second round.
