Conor McGregor reacts to Katie Taylor’s win over Amanda Serrano

Irishman and former UFC doubles champion Conor McGregor congratulates Katie Taylor on the win.

Big fights are no stranger to Conor McGregor. The former UFC two-division champion has had multiple title fights throughout his career, including becoming the UFC’s first-ever simultaneous world champion in the featherweight and lightweight divisions.

Much like McGregor, Katie Taylor also had her moment in the sun. In a 10-round boxing war against a Puerto Rican legend against Amanda Serrano, Taylor made a hard-fought but controversial decision.

It was at this point that McGregor took to Twitter to congratulate the six division world champion as Ireland have another belt holder again.

“Katie Taylor the greatest! Absolutely incredible boxing!
Bow, ladies! What a competition,” McGregor wrote after the fight.

At press time, the tweet is quickly gaining global attention, having eclipsed 1,000 retweets and 12,000 likes since it was sent.

A rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano is possible

Don’t rule out Taylor-Serrano 2. Both women popped the question during post-ring interviews and they agreed it would make a lot of sense. Although nothing is official, given Taylor’s popularity in Ireland, Eddie Hearn and Jake Paul have exchanged words of encouragement about a schedule for a rematch. Both men will try to target September or October for Round 11 if all goes to their liking.

“Let’s do it in Ireland,” Paul said. Hearn is open to hosting the fight at Dublin’s Croke Park in the early autumn months.

Hearn also complimented both women, despite his fighter claiming the win.

“You just watched one of the greatest fights in the history of Madison Square Garden,” he said during the post-fight interview.

It’s safe to assume that Taylor and Serrano captivated the world, and those who believed women’s boxing would not go mainstream were proved wrong at an electrifying main event in New York City. Conor McGregor reacts to Katie Taylor’s win over Amanda Serrano
