Conor McGregor-Michael Chandler will fight after coaching at TUF 31 this year

Conor McGregor will finally return to the octagon this year and Michael Chandler has been announced as his opponent. However, before the fight, they will face off as trainers on The Ultimate Fighter.

The Irish UFC fighter hasn’t fought in almost two years as he sustained a leg injury in his last fight against Dustin Poirier in UFC 264. McGregor has made a full recovery and has already hinted at many potential fights, including one with Michael Chandler. which has now been confirmed by UFC President Dana White.

Notorious fans have been holding their breath for Conor to return to the Octagon. Now it looks like UFC enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer as the Irishman is expected to return to his coaching duties in the next season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, which premieres May 30.

The Irish mixed martial artist will face 37-year-old Michael Chandler in his second stint as a trainer in The Ultimate Fighter. After the two lightweight fighters finished training on TUF, Dana promised they would finally fight.

McGregor has not been a coach since season 22 of The Ultimate Fighter in 2015. This season, the two-time world featherweight and lightweight champion has found himself at the heart of trash talk, physical altercations and many other controversies.

As for Chandler, he too was defeated by Dustin Poirier at UFC 281 and has only won one of his previous four fights in the UFC. However, the American has long wanted a fight with Conor and that wish is now set to be fulfilled.
