Commander’s first loss of the season came before kick-off

The Washington Commanders are having serious difficulties marketing their new logo and branding.

That Washington commanders – known as Washington soccer team in recent years – have introduced a new name and slight branding change this season and so far this is causing some serious problems in the merch department. Apparently, some members of the team don’t even know what state the team is in.

As the gates opened for Week 1 of the regular season, some reporters noticed something unusual about the coffee mugs for sale inside the stadium.

Commanders from Washington put an incorrect state on coffee cups sold at FedEx Field

Who approved this?

In case you didn’t know, the Commanders represent the District of Columbia, not the state of Washington. The two are on opposite shores of the country, so it’s a big difference. FedEx Field itself is located in the state of Maryland.

I think that’s what happens when you outsource your goods, because there’s no way someone actually working for the commanders made this possible… right?

Regardless, someone familiar with the team’s geographic location had to approve it. Not good!

Might be a tough day for someone at work on Monday. Perhaps as punishment, whoever is at fault should be traded to the Seahawks.

This could become a fun niche collectible. It’s like getting your hands on the losing Super Bowl team’s t-shirts!
