College Soccer Prediction: Georgia, Cincinnati Win Final Two Playoffs Against Notre Dame

No one is surprised, right? We all predicted this at the start of the season. No. 3 Alabama will most likely the top seed inside College football Playoff when new CFP leaderboard released and the matches are announced on Sunday.

It is the result of a 41-24 dismantlingg of No. 1 Georgia, which has been the most dominant team in college football this season so far, in the 2021 SEC Championship. Because of Georgia’s regular-season dominance, it will still make it to the CFP and Likely the 3rd seed.

Alabama is scheduled to go to the Cotton Bowl and face the only other team that has gone unbeaten to start the weekend. No. 4 Cincinnati finished a perfect 13-0 season with a victory over Houston number 21 in the AAC Championship Game. The Bearcats are predicted to be the 4th seed as the first team from the CFP Group of Five conference.

No. 2 Michigan win the Big Ten championship game by dismantling number 13 Iowa. The Wolverines are expected to retain their No. 2 seed in the CFP, taking a spot in the Orange Bowl semi-final against Georgia. Michigan is one of the four favorites to win their conference championship games this weekend.

College football tournament

Saturday got off to a wild start when the Oklahoma State No. 5, previously predicted a playoff entry, was just half a yard short of winning the Big 12 Championship Game. No. 9 Baylor took the win instead. earned the Big 12 title, eliminated the Cowboys from the CFP but earned a spot for the Bears in the New Year’s Six bowl. Baylor will represent the Big 12 in the Sugar Bowl with Oklahoma State potentially finishing in the Fiesta Bowl against 11 Michigan State.

At one point Saturday, it looked like No 5 Notre Dame could make the playoffs after the Oklahoma State loss. Alabama ruined that by beating Georgia, so the Fighting Irish will likely find themselves in the Peach Bowl instead of against 15th ACC champion Pittsburgh.

With the top two SEC teams predicted for the CFP, the No. 8 Ole Miss is likely to take the SEC spot in the Sugar Bowl ahead of Baylor.

On Friday, No. 17 Utah won tickets to the Rose Bowl with a second defeat of No. 10 Oregon in the past three weeks. Utes will face No. 7 Ohio State on Utah’s first trip to ’em All’s Grandfather.

For those who think there are too many bad games, ESPN asks otherwise. The network, which controls much of the group stage schedule, worked with the NCAA this week to pass the 42nd game so that all teams that qualify have a game to play after this season. The game will be played in Texas. That’s all we know at this point.
