College football pundits troll Clemson’s Dabo Swinney after news of Tony Elliott

Clemson Football’s coaching staff will be unrecognizable next season when Brent Venables and Tony Elliott leave for new jobs.
Dabo Swinney kept Venables and Elliott around for as long as possible, but in the end, the Power-5 schools called for. Clemson can only pay their assistants so much when Swinney is consuming a large portion of the training budget.
Venables, former defensive coordinator, now head coach at Oklahoma. Elliott, formerly offensive coordinator for quarterbacks like Trevor Lawrence, remains at the ACC as head coach at Virginia.
Swinney wished them both well and knew this day would come. But both leaving in the same season must be tough news, and certainly a hit on the recruiting road.
Clemson football: Can Dabo Swinney recover?
Clemson’s success next season will, in part, depend on who they hire to replace two famous assistants. It helps them play in the ACC, arguably one of the weakest Power 5 conferences in college football.
However, Swinney’s training room now looked empty.
Still, some Clemson fans remain hopeful. Dabo has been suspected before.
Of course, Swinney will have a lot of doubts at this point, especially since his team is having a down year by their standards.
If anyone was prepared for this kind of failure, it was Swinney, who took what was previously a good but not-so-great show to a new level. Clemson is one of the top college football powerhouses, and he gets paid alongside some of the game’s greats, including Nick Saban.
One down season was tough enough for Swinney to make. Two in a row? My money is rotating in big proportions especially in ACC.
