BALTIMORE, MD (WJZ) – As expected, yesterday showers covered the observation area combined with an intense upper trough that rotated through the northeast.
Another (weaker) shortwave trough will resume today, keeping the chance for an isolated shower in the forecast north of the city, mainly in the afternoon hours.

Courtesy of the slide past yesterday, temperatures are high above and at the surface it will be cooler, so we have a better picture of a bit of winter precipitation mixed in with any showers going via.

Compared to yesterday’s high of 54 at BWI, temperatures are expected to drop by about 7 degrees Celsius.
It will be a very cold night tonight as we expect the clouds to clear and cool winds to continue.

Our expected mid-20s lows are typically more typical mid to late January than late March. And if you think it’s going to be cold today/tonight, unfortunately there’s still another day to go before the climb slows down – and possibly the coldest of the entire stretch.
