Cincinnati vs. SMU Prediction and Odds (Mustangs Set to Cover)

The Cincinnati Bearcats end the regular season tonight with an away game in Dallas against the SMU Mustangs. The Bearcats got off to a promising start to the season, winning five straight wins. Things haven’t been smooth sailing since then, with Cincy going 12-13 in the remaining 25 games of the year. They currently sit seventh in the AAC and have little to offer but pride. SMU, on the other hand, had a difficult start to the year, taking a 3-3 lead in their first six games. However, they turned things around and led 17-4 for the rest of the year and are currently second in the American Conference. With just one game left, they couldn’t catch Houston for first place and almost blew their NCAA tournament chance, recently losing to Temple and Wichita State. Team rankings have a 22.8% chance of making the dance tonight to get a high bid. Here are the odds for this AAC matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

While their recent loss to Houston ruined SMU’s conference title chances, they’re still in a good position to secure a tournament bid. You just gotta give the Bearcats a good beating tonight. The Mustangs are also out for revenge because one of the games that eventually blew them away came from Cincinnati. The Bearcats embarrassed the Mustangs 77-60, ending an eight-game winning streak. Although the Mustangs haven’t beaten Cincinnati since 2017, I think that streak will come to a quick end tonight. SMU has been playing very hard at home and needs this win to keep their season alive in tournament play.

Slim: SMU -7 (-110)
