Chris Jericho has filed for a new trademark and this trademark is related to the character “Painmaker” he has portrayed in NJPW and AEW.
He filed a trademarked image of the character with the USPTO under Chris Irvine, Inc on December 6. Here is the description:
“The sign includes a full character design consisting of a felt hat, a leather jacket with spikes protruding from it, a scarf, and a painted face.
Marked For: This trademark registration is intended to include downloadable categories of image files containing trading cards, artwork, photos or memes validated with non-fungible tokens (NFTs). ); Downloadable media file containing artwork, text, audio, and video associated with trading cards, artwork, photos, or memes that are validated with a non-fungible token (NFT) . ”
Jericho first showed off the character three years ago while working for NJPW. Most recently, he brought it back for a death match with Nick Gage on an episode of AEW Dynamite.
The former AEW world heavyweight champion was recently hospitalized for an issue unrelated to COVID but He has said that he is feeling good.
