Cheeky Santana taps Madonna for “Material Gworrllllllll!” remix

Rising rapper and internet phenomenon Saucy Santana has teamed up with Madonna for the remix of his 2020 viral hit Material Girl, now titled Material Gworrllllllll! The Queen of Pop first teased the collaboration on her Instagram account on August 4, sharing a snap of the lively chorus. “(Material Girl) is currently working on a Grammy,” Santana spits over the electronic production, which references Madonna’s groundbreaking song. “In the meantime, pussy poppin’ with your man in Miami.”

The release comes after the unlikely duo teamed up at New York City Pride in June. Madonna, who’s still very much at the pulse of pop culture, invited Santana to share the Terminal 5 stage for a mash-up of “Material Girl” featuring her 1984 hit of the same name. It was an experience that made a lasting impression on the rapper. “I wish I could have this moment for my LIFE,” he wrote on Instagram before profusely thanking the pop icon.

“The last weeks [with] you were just amazing!” gushed Santana, who also tapped Latto for a feature in his Booty. “I’ve quietly learned so many great things from you. Thank you for choosing me! A gay female black boy [with] Talent and vision I didn’t know God had for me.” It’s another step toward mainstreaming for the social media company, who started in the industry as a makeup artist for City Girls before branching out into a String of viral hits branched out into rap. His version of “Material Girl” has already amassed more than 40 million streams on Spotify.

As for Madonna, “Material Gworrllllllll!” is the latest development in a blockbuster year that marks her 40th anniversary in the music industry. She started 2022 by going viral herself with the Sickick-backed “Frozen” remixes, and then released “Finally Enough Love,” a club compilation, on June 24. An expanded version, “Finally Enough Love: 50 Number One Hits,” which collects remixes from all of their club chart-topping hits, is slated for release on August 19.
