Charles Leclerc was in the news this week for one thing reason or the other and after today it has been clarified that despite the Monegasque race with a new engine in Canada, Leclerc will not be penalized for the Canadian Grand Prix.
There was talk throughout this week that Charles Leclerc would receive a potential grid penalty for a 3rd PU on his F1-75, but following the recent revelation it seems the 24-year-old somehow managed to escape the penalty, which was almost guaranteed to come its way to the Canadian Grand Prix.
Motorsport via TWITTER has updated everyone on the latest developments in the Leclerc case and has written“There will be no penalty for Leclerc but he will start with a new engine.”
This news comes out of the blue and will certainly not please the Red Bull camp. Ferrari have been on fire form in qualifying this season and have outperformed Red Bull on most occasions.

Charles Leclerc will have a spring in his step in Canada
Charles Leclerc, who started the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from pole position, was unable to finish due to a mechanical problem, but now that Leclerc is free of any penalty for Canada he will do whatever it takes to get back on track to victory to return and close the gap to Verstappen and Perez in the drivers’ standings.
Leclerc currently has 116 points and is quite a way behind Verstappen who has 150 points to his tally. Given the huge gap between the two, it’s high time for Leclerc and company to start posting results lest the 2022 championship slip out of young Leclerc’s reach.
Previously, the championship battle was only between Leclerc and Verstappen but now, with the resurgence of Sergio Perez, the Monegasque has another player to contend with and it will be quite fascinating to see how the three stack up during the GP of Canada would beat.
