There’s some good news about Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, who sustained a Week 2 rib injury.
In week 2, the Chargers from Los Angeles lost 27-24 to the Kansas City Chiefs after forfeiting a 17-7 lead. But the game was about the story Justin Herbert suffers a fractured rib cartilage, and fight your way through. That’s why fans are wondering if he can play the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3.
Herbert was a limited participant in training on Thursday, September 22nd. NFL network insider Ian Rapoport noted that this seems more like a pain tolerance of sorts for Herbert, but that we need to know how he’s getting through practice Friday to see if he can play on Sunday.

Herbert was a restricted training participant from Tuesday to Thursday, according to the team’s official injury report.
The injury came in the fourth quarter when he was hit by Chiefs defenseman Mike Danna while delivering a pass. Herbert was in considerable pain afterwards, but went over the sidelines. Herbert missed an offensive game but returned. Herbert grimaced as he attempted to throw close-range passes. But then he threw an absolute dart from a 35-yard pass to receiver DeAndre Carter and completed a seven-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Palmer.
This season, Herbert has completed 72.0 percent of his passes for 613 yards, six touchdowns and one interception.
Chargers fans will have to wait and see how Herbert fares in the team’s remaining practices, but it appears he’s headed in the right direction.
