Thousands are asking what happened after accounts of this beloved music veteran ChakaZulu was reportedly shot dead in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta on Sunday evening, June 26. According to an incident report, officers responded to a call that around 11:35 p.m. said several people were shot dead at 2293 Peachtree Road

The Disturbing Tha Peace Records co-founder is reportedly in the intensive care unit of an Atlanta hospital after he was shot dead near APT 4B, a restaurant and bar where Zulu hosts weekly events.

The 41-year-old is said to have been shot three times. Sources say he was escorting some women from the bar to their car when he allegedly got into a fight with some guys the women knew. Officers found three male victims with gunshot wounds, including one believed to be one of the gunmen, who was later pronounced dead.

One suspect is reportedly already in custody, although details of Zulus’ status are scarce at the moment. Without knowing all the facts, fans began writing messages of encouragement and prayers to his family in the comments section of his latest Instagram post. On Wednesday, June 22, Zulu shared a photo of himself posing with a rapper Pusha T

One person said: “I am praying for you sir I know you will be fine.” Another wrote: “We love you! You’ll get through this!”

Chaka Zulu is one of the most respected executives in the music industry. Aside from being Ludacris’ longtime manager, he co-founded Disturbing Tha Peace with Luda and her business partner Jeff Dixon in 1998. The independent label has been home to many artists including Shawna, Bobby V, Chingy, I-20, Field Mob and others eventually brokered a joint venture with Def Jam/Universal and became the first team to lead Def Jam South.
