CFB DFS: Week 12 Drafts & FanDuel College Football Picks

Week 12 action continues with Wednesday’s two-game option on DraftKings and FanDuel. This college football DFS breakdown will look at both teams and provide information on each player’s skill position to keep in mind. Be sure to check out Awesemo guess, depth chart and data sheet for more information. With that said, let’s dive into this week’s CFB DFS Week 12 picks for Wednesday’s game.

DFS College Football: CFB Picks Wednesday Week 12

Northern Illinois vs Buffalo

Northern Illinois (Total Implied 31.5)

Play / Game – 74 (35th)

Pass rate – 37.99% (121)

Michigan State Transfer Rocky Lombardi ($7,500) led the assault through Northern Illinois. He benefits from high play rates and dual threat skill sets. Lombardi has had 376 yards this year, taking advantage of a Buffalo defense that allows for more than 200 yards per game. As a passer, Lombardi averaged 211.1 yards per game with 26.8 attempts. However, he has over 260 in each of his last three games, including over 300 in two of them. With his involvement in every aspect of the game, Lombardi is a great midfield pick.

Harrison Waylee ($6,000) continues to miss time with no update on his status. Jevyon Ducker ($5,700) is back in his lead, with at least 20 touches in three straight games. Behind him, Clint Ratkovich ($4,300), Antario Brown ($3,000) and Mason Blakemore ($3,000) will all get a handful of contacts. This makes Ducker’s workload less volatile than some other defenders, but he still plays firmly against a Buffalo defense that allows for more than 200 yards.

At the recipient NIU lost Tyrice Richie, What thrust? Trayvon Rudolph ($7,300) into a high role. Rudolph has 35 goals in the last two NIU games. Behind him, Cole Tucker ($5,100) continues to rise after missing many games to start the year. He also has 21 goals compared to the last two of the NIU. Basically, Huskies don’t use anyone else. WR3 and tight finish are both nasty spins worth skipping. Both receivers are stackable with Lombardi.

Buffalo (Total 30 implied)

Play / Game – 76.6 (15th)

Pass rate – 43.40% (89th)

Veteran midfielder Kyle Vantease ($5,000) continued to lead to Buffalo’s growing offensive behavior. The Bulls still prefer running, but the tempo helps Vantease. Unlike previous seasons, Vantease has shown mobility with a cumulative 115 yards this year. As a passer, he averaged 187.6 yards per game with 26.2 attempts. Vantease hasn’t finished either of Buffalo’s last two games, but he’s gone above 200 in the previous three. While he doesn’t have a 300-yard game this year, the price is attractive. However, Vantease was late and was in danger of being split in time with Matt Myers ($4,800) to some extent. He’s a risky GPP pick on the two-game alternative.

Kevin Marks ($4,000) back from injury, but still serves as a change of pace to Dylan McDuffie ($6,700). McDuffie averages 17 touches per game but has at least 20 touches in four consecutive games. McDuffie isn’t the most active in the passing game, but the NIU allows for more than 215 yards per game. Marks will play a pacing role with Ron Cook ($3,100).

Bowling Green moves Quinn Williams ($5,900) lead Buffalo by 80.2 yards per game on 8.9 goals. Behind him, Dominic Johnson ($3,800) and Jamari Gassett ($3,400) are WR2 and WR3. They averaged 5.2 and 2.6 goals, respectively. Tyler Stephens ($3,500) is the tightest end, but Buffalo will swing the position. Williams and Johnson are the two best options for Buffalo stackers.

Central Michigan vs. Ball State

Central Michigan (Total Implied 28.5)

Play / Game – 76.6 (15th)

Pass rate – 52.54% (32nd)

Daniel Richardson ($7,200) was defeated Jacob Sirmon for the starting quarterback job of Central Michigan. Richardson is not mobile, with the negative 34 yards doubling this year. However, he benefits from a high-tempo attack and multiple passes. Richardson has only had one 300-yard pass this year, but he’s crossed the 250-yard on four other occasions. This is even more impressive considering he didn’t start the first three games of the year. While Richardson requires a strong passing performance to overcome his negative rush numbers, this game environment still gives him a strong ceiling.

Lew Nichols ($9,000) is the best rerun game on block media. He averages 129.4 jabs and 22.6 yards getting over 27.5 touches per game. He had 43 carries in the last week. Even with the high price tag, he is still a priority.

Kalil Pimpleton ($6,500) and JaCorey Sullivan ($4,900) were the top two receivers for Central Michigan, averaging 8.4 and 7.1 goals per game, respectively. Sullivan’s numbers are somewhat down following a mid-season injury, but he averages 63.5 yards per game, compared with Pimpleton’s 77.9. Dallas Dixon ($5,300) is WR3 and Joel Wilson ($4,200) is the tight end. Both are viable under GPP, averaging 6.3 and four goals per game, respectively.

Shadow state (Total 31 implied)

Play / Game – 68 (91st)

Pass rate – 50.98% (41st)

Ball State has reduced their pace this year while still having plenty of passes. This has lowered the floor of Drew Plitt ($6,200), who primarily acts as a game manager. Plitt has a cumulative 128 yards of javelin this year, while averaging 190 yards of passes per game with 29.6 attempts. Plitt has only one game over 300 yards this year and six under 200 yards. With the lower tier, Plitt is better served in GPPs. For reference, he hasn’t fallen below 200 yards in any game in the last year.

When it came back, Ball State relied more and more on Carson Steele ($5,500) when they returned to the top. He does it Will Jones ($3,300) 21-3 on Ball State’s most recent game. With that said, Jones continues to handle all the work of passing the game. While Steele has more than 20 consecutive runs, he is slightly more adventurous than other defenders on this board due to his passing role.

Justin Hall ($7,100) is the top recipient on this medium. He averages 59.9 yards across 7.8 goals, but he also plays an important role in the running game. Hall has at least four carries in each of his last four, giving him an excellent kill score. Behind him, Yo’Heinz Tyler ($4,100) and Jayshon Jackson ($4,400) are extras. Tyler is the receiver below with 369 yards across 6.9 targets. Jackson was the best player with 519 yards with 6.4 goals per game. Both are possible.
