Celtics light up Lakers without Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams

Despite missing both Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams and facing a Lakers team that already had LeBron James back on the roster, the Boston Celtics exploded in the second half and won easily at TD Garden with a 130-108 aggregate score. on Friday night. The Celts are back at .500, improving to 8-8 during the season, while the struggling Lakers have dropped to 8-9.

True to his prediction, Jayson Tatum led the night with 37 points in an effective 13-26 shooting. Tatum also led the Celtics with 11 rebounds. Marcus Smart and Dennis Schröder scored 22 and 21 respectively to save Brown’s absence. Josh Richardson took his place from the bench with 15 points and the best 27 on the team.

The Lakers started faster and took a seven-goal lead early in the second quarter, but Tatum scored in time and Schröder scored C. Tatum tied it 58-58 with a steal and beat a shot. sloped back another way late in the second half, but the Lakers were 61-60 ahead at halftime.

It was in the third quarter that the Celtics took over. They went on to run 29-13 at one point, ignited by Smart scoring the first five points of the third inning. Tatum is closer, scoring 14 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter. Overall, Team C overcame the Lakers 70-47 in the second half.

James scored 23 points from 10 to 16 from the field on his return to the Lakers squad, his first since Nov. 2. He had missed the previous eight games because of an abdominal injury.
