Cell phone video shows mother, daughter in group attacking 12-year-old Elk Grove – CBS Sacramento

ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Cell phone video shows a brutal assault on a 12-year-old girl as she was walking home from Harriet Eddy Middle School in Elk Grove.

Elk Grove police have arrested 32-year-old Demetria Fowler and her 13-year-old daughter for participating in the attack, and they are asking for the public’s help to track down three more adults who also participated in the beating.

And the police want you to watch this video to help them track down everyone involved in the attack.

Mobile phone video shows a sickly scene – a 12-year-old boy being pulled by her hair to the ground. Another woman in the video, wearing a ski mask at the start of the attack before the attack happened, is one of three adults police are still looking for.

Besides using fists, one carried a stick and another used pepper spray during the attack.

Families picking up students at Harriet Eddy High School were stunned to see the video.

“What went through my head was like, ‘This could happen to my nephew, he could be targeted for no reason at all,’” said Sylvia Sanchez of Harriet Eddy High School.

“Perhaps if there were consequences like that in life, people would be better off,” said Harriet Eddy High School parent Robert Delapoza.

Prison records show that – despite being charged with child corporal punishment, conspiracy, criminal conduct and contributing to the child’s delinquency – the arrested mother was released from custody . The charges are on the Sacramento County COVID-19 emergency bail schedule.

Attorney Mark Reichel said: “No bail means that’s it, the book and the release. “We decided that instead of putting these people in jail during this COVID pandemic, we would instead take certain cases and leave them out of bail, which means you come, you reservation and free. . ”

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify other suspects who may also face a similar fate.

Police said the 12-year-old girl suffered injuries but was physically fine.

Elk Grove Unified School District said it increased patrols around the school Thursday and will continue to do so in the coming days.
