Celebrate International Cat Day with this trailer of Nine Noir Lives

Cat-themed video games are in the zeitgeist now. But not how stray, that follows a lost cat in a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk world, Nine Noir Lives swap the robot pets and backpacks for fedoras and trench coats.

A new trailer – just in time for International Cat Day – shows off the game’s licking mechanics. The main character, hard-nosed detective Cuddles Nutterbutter, goes around licking various objects and other cats. As one character explains, cats get information just like that! It’s just a little odd that these cats have very human-like voices and giggle when licked.

The game from Silvernode Games will be a comedic twist on the noir genre and set in a world full of cats. Cuddles takes on a last-minute case that sends him and his assistant through the dark alleys of Meow Meow Furrington, which, of course, is the cat capital.

Nine Noir Lives will be available on September 7th for PC via Steam.
