‘Caught in a Civil War’ Journalist Predicts AFCON Canceled

There was a new update on the possibility of AFCON being canceled, via a Twitter post that was shared online.
Hugo Zoff, as his Twitter bio claims, is ‘Africa’s Leading Sports Journalist‘and delivered a disturbing update for Cameroonian football fans, which could also be positive news for Liverpool supporters.
In one Twitter posted, the journalist said:
🇨🇲🏆 AFCON only ends in two ways as it stands; canceled or an international insult.
The country is embroiled in a civil war, and leaked documents show security forces are stretched so thin that there are even concerns from the opposition about safety at major events. ! pic.twitter.com/neuUZj3nyp

This will be great news in the prospect of not losing Mo Salah and Sadio Mane in January and the words ‘canceled or an international insult‘could give some fans some hope.
No one wants our players’ presence to reflect a national problem in Cameroon and hopefully everyone is safe there but if it’s not safe for our players then neither are we. I don’t want them to be mine.
The organizers need to make sure this is an up-and-coming competition with the interests of the players and supporters a key priority.
