Catherine, Princess of Wales’ moment leaves viewers ‘sick’ amid Harry and Meghan’s Netflix trailer

Some royal fans and close associates have expressed shock at the use of a “stern” image of Catherine, Princess of Wales in the forthcoming Netflix documentary The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The minute-long trailer, released on Friday, teases what may be in store from the six-part series, which will be released next week.

Friends of Prince William and Catherine are reportedly “disgusted” by this.

“I was horrified when I saw this trailer, honestly it’s everything we feared,” royal expert Richard Eden told Mail+.

Eden spoke to friends of the royal couple after the trailer was released and said they were “frankly disgusted” by its content.

“The use of William and Catherine and the image and the way it’s presented, my goodness,” he explained.

The documentary features a photo of Meghan in tears clutching a phone before the sound of glass breaking is heard as it pans to Kate, sending a “stern” look towards the camera.

The picture was taken during the Commonwealth Day service in 2019, with Prince Harry and Meghan sitting behind the Prince and Princess of Wales in the photo.

Eden continued, “You see Meghan with her head in her hands and distraught, and then it immediately pans to a stern, stone-faced image of Catherine at Westminister Abbey at that Commonwealth Day service in 2019.”

Addressing reports at the time that William and Kate “refused to even make eye contact with the Sussexes,” leading to “disappointment.”

“William and Catherine’s friends point out (via the image used) that they appear to have gone to great lengths to find the only unflattering image of Catherine for this trailer,” he added.

“The timing of this trailer couldn’t be worse.”

Eden pointed out that the release came as Kate and William left for a visit to the US, their first in eight years.

‘Deliberate Attempt’

“It’s a deliberate attempt to eclipse her, and the use of her imagery in it really underlines that point,” he said.

“This documentary series is meant to be about Harry and Meghan, and yet they feature William and Catherine in the minute-long trailer. It’s really frightening.”

Along with Eden, others on Twitter agreed with the unnecessary addition of Kate in the trailer.

@Netflix Don’t you think the reason Kate and William look so stern in your trailer is the result of Harry and Meghan’s appalling and disloyal behavior?” One fan opined.

“Super manipulative! Include a stern looking photo of William and Kate,” said another.

“The sound of glass breaking as Meghan Markle weeps, cuts to Kate and William staring at the camera on Commonwealth Day 2019. Obviously bombs are coming,” suggested a third.

The Harry and Meghan documentary series is scheduled to hit Netflix on Thursday, December 8th.
