Cars vandalized in South Boston because of parking space savers – CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – Days after they were thought to have been scrapped, the battle for space defenders led to vandalism in South Boston.
Many drivers said they lost some “savings” space on Thursday night, only to wake up to their vehicle tampered with on Friday morning.

“It’s too bad they don’t have the right to do that to your car. Troy Stefansky said.
The 25-year-old has lived in South Boston for three years.
Stefansky said he parked his car on a Thursday night to save space because he had no other option.

By Friday, Stefansky said his car was missing the side mirrors, the windshield wipers were missing, and there was a note with obscene words on the front of the car.
The City of Boston requires that guards in place be relocated 48 hours after the emergency is lifted.
That means the deadline to delete them is Wednesday at 6am
Stefansky said he doesn’t know why someone would go to this extreme in a position that’s not theirs to claim.

“Never had anything like this, but I have also never moved a saver in place,” says Stefansky. “Won’t do it again.”
