It appeared at last that The Arizona Cardinals are preparing to welcome back starting quarterback Kyler Murray and celebrity star DeAndre Hopkins to the starting lineup for Week 13 against the Chicago Bears. About 48 hours before the game started, head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters he was not quite ready to make that call.
Hopkins, for one, didn’t seem too worried about his injury on Friday.
The last time Hopkins or Murray competed was in the Cardinals’ Week 8 loss to the Green Bay Packers on October 28. Murray didn’t practice leading up to Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers but eventually make it back came to the field in limited numbers the Friday before Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers.
The third year signal caller finally sat out the game against the Panthers, and though have a chance To match Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks, the team chose to use its Week 12 goodbye to bring both Pro Bowlers close to full power.
Arizona has largely turned to cruiser Colt McCoy as center since Murray’s departure. In six games – including three starts – this season, McCoy has completed 68/90 684-yard passes and three touchdowns before an interception.
