Canucks lose at WrestleMania weekend – The Athletic

On a night when the babyface was about to have its big moment, the Canucks once again found themselves falling short. It was less of a WrestleMania scenario and more of a Sunday Night Heat of sorts as the Vancouver Canucks lost 3-2 to the Las Vegas Golden Knights in overtime.

Even with Vegas hitting in their own net to level the game and Tyler Myers just seconds left, all alone in the slot, the Canucks couldn’t find a way to bounce back from another miserable start.

Continuing with the wrestling theme, it’s as if Undertaker’s hand burst through the ring and grabbed the Canucks squadron’s ankle, dragging them back to hell.

In other words, folks, we’re going straight into the Biech season, which brings us back to another “this is the most important offseason in Canucks history” moment. The good news is that it’s at least under new management, so there’s reason to be optimistic about positive changes.

But before we get there, we need to summarize a game.

So grab some popcorn shrimp, enjoy Daniel Wagner’s new lounge music and let’s make some GIF money.

Never forget this is a league that has a hard time penalizing headshots because the game moves so fast you know and this is a hockey game ok?

I’ve been pointing out these stick-on-stick felony penalties all season for three reasons:

1. Credit the officials for consistently calling these plays.

2. To point out how silly it is that these are the plays the league is getting into.

3. Canucks lose at WrestleMania weekend – The Athletic
