Can you save Dale in As Dusk Falls?

Da Dusk Falls will put you in many high-pressure situations, between a robbery, being held hostage and running from the police as Jay Holt. Your decisions will largely determine who will and will not survive, but the fate of some characters will be predetermined with or without your input. Is there a way for Jay’s brother Dale to survive the As Dusk Falls hostage situation?

Can Dale survive in As Dusk Falls?

Regardless of whether you’re a fan of the Holts family or not, there’s no way for Dale to get out alive. Regardless of your actions, he will be shot dead during the motel hostage situation; it’s only a matter of time before he gets shot.

The first situation he can die in is when he’s talking to Sheriff Dante and takes Vince away at gunpoint. As they speak, Vince will notice the sniper’s red dot on Dale’s forehead moving, and you have a choice to warn him or not. If you do nothing, he will be shot immediately. When Vince makes it back, Tyler will accuse him of killing him before Joyce turns on him and Tyler will shoot Joyce.

If you warn him, both Dale and Vince will make it back to the motel. After his mother Sharon arrives, they call for a bus to safely leave the area. The cops use this bus to ram into the motel and start a fight with the kidnappers. Dale will attempt to use Joyce as a human shield but will be shot.

No matter what you do, Dale will die during the police hostage situation. There is no way to save him, regardless of your actions.
