Can you play Dead By Daylight in split screen?

Unfortunately for anyone trying to get multiple people to play Dead By Daylight on one system, you can’t enjoy the horror game in split screen. Only one person can play the game per system, but it supports crossplay. So if you have the game on another platform, you can load it there and play it together on these two connections.

There are a few reasons why Dead By Daylight wouldn’t support split screen. For starters, if a console is forced to render everything that happens in the game multiple times simultaneously and play it properly, it could be very taxing on the game and spoil the experience for all players. Also, local split-screen co-op, while still popular, tends to diminish the experience for players because it takes away so much of what one person can potentially see at once. If you’re a kid you might not care too much, but losing half the screen that could normally help you perform better isn’t that much fun.

While Dead By Daylight could potentially add split screen features to the game as it has crossplay, bots and many other features, we’d be surprised if that ever happened. Split screen was a way of playing a game that was never the best way to enjoy this game and it can be difficult to develop. Can you play Dead By Daylight split screen?
