Can you fight Skirmishes again in Xenoblade Chronicles 3? answered

Skirmishes are a faction battle mechanic that players will encounter during their adventure in Aionios in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. These battles can be part of a quest, but the vast majority take place during open-world exploration. Skirmishes offer great rewards when you participate in one for the first time, and they can be fought repeatedly. This guide explains how to re-fight skirmishes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

As you roam the open world, you will encounter groups of enemies engaged in combat. These groups are marked with a red exclamation mark above them. The game instructions will tell you to hold ZR, which will increase the nearby skirmish. As you approach the skirmish, you will have the option to choose a side to help.

When entering a skirmish for the first time, you have a choice of which side to help, unless the two sides involved are Keves or Agnus fighting monsters. In this case, you can only help the kingdoms. Each side has a reward you can obtain, often their affinity for a specific colony or rare Nopon Coins.
Each skirmish outside of quest-related battles can be fought as many times as you like, with some restrictions. To replay a skirmish, you must skip travel to a different region. After loading the game, open the map and teleport back to the battle you want to fight again. You will find the same two groups fighting again.

As the image above shows, you can only get Skirmish rewards if it’s your first time participating in one. You can fight them again as many times as you like, as you still get experience and class points for winning the battle. Skirmishes are also a good source of high-level farm monsters, as one side can help you deal damage and distract the enemies.
