All eyes are on you, State of Oklahoma. Suddenly, Mike Gundy could be in charge of the Big 12’s best remaining (outside) chance at the College Rugby Round. The Cowboys improved to 10-1 with a 63-17 defeat to TCU. OSU won 42 points in a row over a period spanning the second, third and fourth quarters. Five different tackles hit at least 50 yards, with Dominic Richardson and Jaylen Warren each topping 100 as the game paced with offense with 447 yards and eight touchdowns.
Oklahoma State could reach the Big 12 Championship Game for the first time with two more wins. While Bedlam is rapidly approaching, the Cowboys cannot ignore Texas Tech. However, they opened up as the 10.5 point line favorite. Kickoff is set at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
In recognition of the Red Raiders, Texas Tech made a coaching change in late October following a loss to Kansas State. That could derail the season, but Sonny Cumbie just led Texas Tech to a big home win over Iowa State, helping the Red Raiders qualify for the first time since 2017. Yes, they did. 21 points ahead, but Jonathan Garibay had a chance to save. He headed on goal at 62 yards. At this point, anything else Tech accomplishes this year is an added bonus. But with games remaining against Oklahoma State and Baylor, Cumbie’s side have two chances to take the top spot of the Big 12.
