Colorado Avalanche defender Kal Makar holding a golf club instead of a hockey stick at this week’s Shaw Charity Classic event in Calgary. His Stanley Cup day is scheduled for August 11th, so until then it’s golf time!
The 23-year-old Conn Smythe Trophy winner attended the golf event, a Pro-Am PGA Tour championship held this week at Canyon Meadows & Country Club in Calgary.

“It’s Golf Time” – Cale Makar enjoys his swing until he gets his cup tag
As reported, Cale Makar played for the tournament with professional golfer Paul Goydos nhl.com. The golf pro joked about the fans swarming around Makar at the event in a video posted by the PGA Tour Championships Twitter account.
Goydos commented, “This guy seems like…are you famous?”. And Makar jokingly said, “No…I paid these people to actually follow me.” Makar later explained how the Stanley Cup plays out in the summer and his time with the cup will be in Calgary on August 11, where he is was born and raised.

One of the youngest defensemen, Cale Makar won the 2022 Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP, followed by Colorado Avalanches 2022 Stanley Cup win, first since 2001 against reigning champions Tampa Bay Lightning in six games. He also became the third defenseman in NHL history to be named a Norris Trophy winner.
