Call of Duty Twitch Streamer Makes IRL Sandwiches for Sexists

It’s 2023 and FPS gaming hasn’t really improved for anyone who sounds like a woman over voice chat. No matter how skilled they are, this seems inevitable Some motherfucker will tell the player to make a sandwich. A woman call of Duty Streamer decided to respond to crappy opponents by pulling away from her game to make a real sandwich.
Twitch streamer Stephanie Evans keeps hitting men cod, but that doesn’t earn her any respect from the Chuds, who keep telling her to go to the kitchen – a misogynistic slur that seems ubiquitous in online gaming. Sometimes, instead of letting it slide off her back, she would get up from her game, go to her kitchen, and make herself a packed lunch. kotaku Evans asked via email if the sandwich meta would cost her any profits. She said her antics cost her “a round or two,” but that it only motivated her to win even more. Most of the comments came after she had already won.
“I tried to run fast and make sandwiches, which took a minute [a half] to about two minutes. I made a full turkey [or] Ham and cheese sandwich [and] packed in a sandwich Ziploc. Then I combined a side of chips and 2 water bottles in a larger ziploc. I put everything in the fridge.” She said kotaku that she prepared a full lunch so she could later donate the food packages to the homeless in the area.
Despite receiving these insults in an estimated 7 out of 10 games, Evans wrote that the sandwich jokes are actually among the tamer things women experience in FPS games. The most negative reactions she gets are sexual assault and death threats.

“[The sandwich meta] designed to raise awareness of what is being freely said and thrown around by some of these people in video games. In the real world, this should have some sort of consequence,” she wrote. “I’m also trying to give a voice to people who are afraid to play FPS because those multiplayer games are toxic.”
Evans has been making sandwiches since she started playing the first one Modern Warfare, but its frail men content is more recent. starting last Novembershe made a series by TikToks based on how men answer when she says “nice try,” “calm down,” or “nice job.” via voice chat. Some told her to go back to the kitchen. Others told her to shut up, bitch. None of the clips I watched contained death threats, but definitely did doesn’t mean they don’t happen. The systematic rot runs deep. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy this clip of Evans telling her opponent to build me a house.
