Cain Velasquez is a mixed martial artist with a brown belt in Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Velasquez’s first win was against Jesse Fujarczyk in 2006 at the time of his debut. After a string of impressive performances, Cain made his UFC debut at UFC 73, defeating Brad Morris on his debut for the company. Velasquez would appear at UFC Fight Nights 14 and 17, both in victory attempts.

At UFC 110 was Velasquez, who was an underdog in his match against the former interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira shocked everyone and won the match, which automatically put him in the title shot. At UFC prime time Cain Velasquez faced Brock Lesnar and defeated the Beast Incarnate to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career with a 1st place finishSt round knockout. After suffering an injury and losing the title to Junior dos Santos, Velasquez defeated dos Santos again at UFC 155 to regain his title and became a two-time UFC champion.

In 2019, Cain Velasquez announced his retirement from MMA and expressed his desire to pursue a career in professional wrestling. Velasquez made his professional wrestling debut in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and teamed with Cody Rhodes to win. Cain Velasquez appeared alongside Rey Mysterio in WWE in 2019, provoking Brock Lesnar to make his debut for the company. The altercation led to a match between the two at WWE Crown Jewel, which was won by Brock Lesnar. An injury kept Velasquez away from WWE and the former UFC champion was fired by the company due to budget cuts related to the Covid19 pandemic.

In February 2022, it was reported that the former WWE Superstar had shot and killed a man in California. Cain Velasquez is said to have hunted down a man by name Harry Goularte Jr who committed acts of sexual abuse of children at a daycare center where a relative of Velasquez’s was studying. In a dangerous chase in which Velasquez was after a car owned by Goularte Jr., his stepfather, and his mother, Velasquez rammed the cars before firing a gun, hitting his stepfather instead of the culprit.

After the incident was reported, Cain Velasquez was taken into custody at the Santa Clara County Jail on a charge of attempted first-degree murder. The former WWE Superstar has since been in prison and is still facing a delay in his hearing. Cain was due to have his hearing on May 5thth August, but was postponed to August 19 for unknown reasonsth August, which could add to Velasquez’s frustration. Velasquez, who faces 10 charges, wants to be tried as soon as possible.
