Byron Bay boy survives snake bite in garden

A five-year-old boy has survived a horrific snake attack in Byron Bay.

The boy was walking at the edge of the pool at his home when a 10-foot (3 m) python appeared to come out of the garden and bit his leg.

The boy and the snake ended up in the pool, and his father said the snake quickly wrapped itself around the boy’s leg.

His 76-year-old grandfather jumped into the pool to save him.

He was able to get the boy out of the pool before the boy’s father removed the snake from his leg.
