This is Bunnings’ biggest launch in 20 years and has been eagerly awaited by enthusiastic buyers for months.

The hardware supermarket has partnered with Australia’s leading pet brands including Pedigree, Whiskas, Schmackos and Supercoat, expanding its range to over 1,000 products in store and online.

Mike Schneider, CEO of Bunnings, looks forward to Bunnings’ latest launch, which begins Friday, March 24th.

“Customers have loved buying our range of curated pets for a number of years, so we are excited to introduce an even bigger and better range that gives customers the same confidence in value and more choice when buying their pets that they do do it for their house and garden,” he said.

“It has also been great to work with Australia’s leading locally based pet suppliers to offer some of the most trusted pet brands.

“Our store teams have been busy revamping our store layout to create a one-stop shop for pets and have been trained to provide expert advice and look forward to helping customers shop the new pet range.”

Craig Sargeant, general manager of Mars Petcare Australia, said he was delighted to be part of Bunnings’ expansion of pet products and to have pet food products on the shelves.

“We love that Australians are more convenient than ever to shop for our popular pet food brands,” he said.

“Almost all of our pet food is manufactured locally at our Bathurst or Wodonga sites and we source locally where possible, so partnering with a legendary Australian retailer fits well with our 50 year history of manufacturing here in Australia,” said Craig.

Pet ownership is widespread in Australia, with the pet population outnumbering by over 2 million people, according to ABS.

Bunnings conducted research into pet owners across the country in March, with nearly half of the participants saying they had to make changes to their homes to accommodate their four-legged companions.
