Bucs RB Fournette NFC Award Winner

Bucs reruns Leonard Fournette had a day at work in Tampa Bay’s 38-31 victory at Indianapolis with his first 100-yard slam dunk of the season and four top touchdowns of his career. Fournette had three rushing points and one touchdown to give the Bucs the lead back from a 10-point deficit at halftime.
Fournette’s big day earned him the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, Pewter report predicts right after Sunday’s win. He became the fifth other Tampa Bay to run back to win the award and the first since Bobby Rainey in 2013 (Week 11).

In addition to the 100 yard dash and three touchdowns, Fournette also had seven 31-yard catches in the Bucs’ big road win. It was Fournette’s second 100-yard game in Tampa Bay.
Fournette is the fourth Bucs player to win a weekly NFC award this season, along with Bradley Pinion (special teams, Week 1), Mike Edwards (defensive, Week 2) and Tom Brady (offensive, Week 1) 5). Tampa Bay now has 10 Player of the Year awards over the past two years – the most in a two-year period since the 2001-2002 season in which the Buccaneers won Super Bowl XXXVII.
He became the first player in franchise history to score three or more triple touchdowns and one receive touchdown in a single game, while re-run Colts Jonathan Taylor were the only players achieve that feat this season. Fournette’s total four touchdowns are rated the second most in a single game by any player in 2021 and tied for the most in team history, compared with Jimmie Giles (10/20/85 in Miami) and Doug Martin (11/4/12 in Oakland).
