Buchnevich’s OT goal lifts Blues over Panthers

In St Louis, The Blues’ Pavel Buchnevich scored in just 53 seconds in extra time Tuesday in a 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers.

“I only see Bennett,” Buchnevich said. “I know he is a striker and I can beat him. I beat him widely and I feel like I can shoot. The goalkeeper comes down and I can go around the net. ”

Ville Husso started the game for the Blues and made 34 saves before leaving the game with an obvious injury late in the third half.

Charlie Lindgren made three relief saves to get the win.

“It’s a pretty tough luck right now, but in the end, it’s how it is and for no reason,” the Blues’ Brandon Saad speak. “We’re playing with some good hockey teams and are competitive and fighting, surviving, and having a good win tonight. I think the message is that whoever is healthy, whoever is playing, keep competing and we will have success. ”

Alexander Barkov returned to the Panthers lineup and opened the scoring to give Florida a 1-0 lead.

Brandon Montour and Jonathan Huberdeau also scored for the Panthers strikers.

“I feel like we’ve got some opportunities,” Montour said. “Clearly, [Husso] play a good game. I felt like we had a couple right in front of the net where we could have scored normally, but that’s what it happens. It happens like that, you can’t score a single time. The boys fought hard, and we took a point out of that. “

Panthers drop to 17-4-4.

“I think we actually played the first game,” said Florida head coach Andrew Brunette. “We adjusted the pace and did everything we wanted in this period, and in the second, I think we got a little cute and a little sloppy and started taking the penalties. They have a great power play, which makes us try to be there a little bit.”

Saad had a goal for the Blues in the third half to give them a temporary 3-2 lead.

“I’m the one who’s just been in the area, put your cane in the right place,” says Saad. “It just deviated from me and went in. Obviously, it was a great move there when the right play ended it. Sometimes you have to get lucky out there. ”

Brayden Schenn and Vladimir Tarasenko also scored for the Blues in regulation.

St Louis improves to 13-8-4.

Spencer Knight made 26 saves in the loss in Florida.
