Sunday’s game gets a little more complicated for both the Rams and Buccaneers, as the two teams will not have a key attacking player.
Upcoming match between Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers definitely a wild one. With that said, both teams are facing some adversity ahead of Sunday afternoon’s competition.
Minutes ago it was announced that the Bucs would be without star power-handling Tristan Wirfs, while the Rams would also be unable to have veteran player Andrew Whitworth on the field to defend Matthew Stafford’s save.
Both Tristan Wirfs and Andrew Whitworth were disqualified from Sunday’s competition
Of course, this is a huge setback for the Bucs, as All-Pro Wirfs has been nothing short of sensational this season. Unfortunately for head coach Bruce Arians, Wirfs recently picked up an ankle injury. While he was able to return to the training ground, it was clear the pain was too hard for him to overcome and he was not ready to kick with the trip to the NFC Championship Game on the ropes.
As for Whitworth, the standout left-hander is dealing with a knee injury he sustained during his win over the Cardinals in the Wild Round. On top of that, Whitworth also had swollen ankles. He’s not the only key player who won’t play, as Taylor Rapp has also been dropped.
Having Wirfs and Whitworth unable to play is difficult for both of them brave cat and Stafford. With that said, this contest is still expected to be a shootout. Both the Wirfs and Whitworth are hoping their teammates will be able to get the job done, so they can be back on the pitch next weekend.
