Fowler, 33, is clearly in a two-year funk, symbolized by the danger of nearly missing the playoffs for the second straight year. Still, Fowler struggled to pull it off.
The FedEx spot also guarantees him the opportunity to play The Players, where he won in 2015, his greatest achievement, and a tournament he would not have qualified for without the FedEx spot.
