After an unprecedented full Monday-Friday break, the Boston Bruins will be back in action again this weekend and with their plans already in place ahead of Saturday’s road competition in Philadelphia.

And that plan will start with Linus Ullmark in the grid for Saturday’s road game against the Flyers.

“Last time [Jeremy Swayman] against Philadelphia, we didn’t win, so there was a bit of, ‘OK, let’s try that guy,'” Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said after Friday’s practice. “Both will play a game [this weekend]. All are discussed with [goalie coach Bob Essensa]. We wanted to get Ullmark in there as quickly as possible.

“It’s a new week, [we’ll] Give him a chance.”

Ullmark hasn’t played since November 11, when he conceded five goals from 28 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Oilers. The numbers make it look worse than Ullmark’s actual play throughout the night, as he did his job better with some strong saves in the first 40 minutes before a swing Brutal behavior from Brandon Carlo and a miscommunication between Carlo and Matt Grzelcyk prompts Leon Draisaitl to leave. (fairly good player) alone in two scoring opportunities that he did not miss.

Overall, the 6-foot-4 Ullmark hit a 3-3-0 record and a 0.903 save in his first six games in the Boston uniform, but his measurements don’t seem to be finding his mid-middle. natural team in the grid and a downright goofy schedule.

“I think Sway found his play and rhythm, so let’s see if we can do the same with Linus,” Cassidy said.
